What is Explore KC Together?
A free Kansas City date planner. Instead of one restaurant pick, it builds a date with a few stops that fit together. Or, with Quick Pick, one good thing to do right now.
How are recommendations chosen?
Your answers (budget, when you can go, how big a date you want, mood, must-haves) are matched against a catalog of KC places and dates that one person keeps up.
What does “Confirm today” mean?
It means that detail hasn’t been independently source-checked recently. We’d rather tell you what needs a quick call or check than present a guess as fact.
Is it free?
Yes. It’s completely free to use right now, no account required.
Do I need an account?
No. Quick Pick and Full Date planning both work without signing in. Creating a free account just lets your saved dates and Passport follow you across devices.
What’s the KC Passport?
A way to track which districts you’ve actually been to. Each stamp fades from grey to full color as you finish dates with places in that district. Only dates you mark as finished count, not browsing or planning one.
What are KC Trails?
Sets of places, like the Coffee Trail or the Taproom Trail. A place counts when it’s in a date you marked finished. A trail is finished at 90% of its places, so one closed spot never holds you back.
Why does the same date show different places sometimes?
Some dates have a flexible stop, like dinner, that picks one of a few similar places based on your date, opening hours and answers. Shuffle on the plan page gives you another mix, and you can lock any stop you like.
How do ratings work?
After a date you can give it one to five stars and pick a reason or two. Your ratings are private and help shape your own suggestions. Each account adds at most one anonymous rating per date, and a date only shows an average once at least five people have rated it. You can clear your ratings any time in Settings.
How are hours and details checked?
Some places have been checked against their own website, and those say so. Others come from listings and are marked as unconfirmed. We would rather show that than a guess. If something is wrong, use Report on the date’s page.
Can I download or delete my data?
Yes. Settings lets you download a copy of your data, clear your ratings, or delete your account, which removes your saved dates, ratings, photos and partner link with it.
What is Plan Together?
A way to plan a date with a friend or partner from two phones. You start it with a free account and send the link, each of you answers the same questions (your partner needs no account), and it reveals a plan that suits both. A tie is settled with a coin flip.
What are Boards?
A Board is a game you play with real dates. Land on a space, pick one of its dates, finish it, and your pawn moves on. You can play the KC Loop, the Starter Board and the Fall Board now, and more boards are on the way. The last space of each is a secret date.
Are the prices exact?
No. Costs are estimates for two people, taken from menus and public listings, not quotes. Where a price has not been confirmed, the plan says so. Check the place before you go, especially for reservations and seasonal hours.
Will it stay free?
Planning a date is free today and is meant to stay that way. If paid extras come later, they will be clearly labeled before anyone is asked for anything.
Is anything sponsored?
No. Nothing on the site is sponsored or paid for today, and places are chosen by the one person who keeps the catalog.
I signed up with an email but nothing arrived.
The email comes from “Supabase Auth”, the sign-in service the site uses, so check Promotions and Spam too. Still nothing after a few minutes? Use Continue with Google on the sign-in page, which needs no email.
Who is behind this?
One person, building it a little at a time. The story is on the About page.
I know a great spot that’s missing.
Reach out via the Contact link in the footer. Suggestions go straight to the person who keeps the catalog.
Something looks wrong or out of date.
Use “Tell us” under Before you go on any date page, the Report option on a plan you are planning, or the Contact link in the footer. Closures are fixed first.
